Some people collect stamps, others hunt animals, I prefer to capture historic buildings by famous architects. Often they hide behind large hedges, leafy trees, or tip toe away when my back is turned so - so the hunt continues.
John Teague, Francis Rattenbury, Thomas Hooper, Samuel Maclure and Percy Leonard is where I've started and it's early in the hunt. All photos on this map are my own and I'll continue to add new finds and update existing buildings as they change over the years. Also check out the Modern Architecture layer for a smattering of new beauties.
If you're looking for the ultimate map on Victoria Architecture, check out Victoria Heritage Foundation's Historic Properties Map. Their pictures may be small and years old, but it's the gold standard for research and info on nearly 1,000 properties.
This map and page will be updated on a regular basis as I've barely just begun.

Photo - November 1, 2025. Built in 1879 for James Fell's grocery store. I have to admit this one flew under the radar for me, but now I'm seeing it a new light. Here's a pic of the interior of the store from the 1890s.
