The Scott
3 storey heritage restoration with an additional floor (46 rental units), plus a new 6 storey rental building (45 units) for a total of 91
Restoration and seismic upgrading of the Scott building, a brick-clad building with a hybrid timber and steel structure, completed in 1912
The building will also have commercial spaces at ground level. The centre of the upper two storeys of the building will be removed to create a ‘U’ configuration allowing daylight to new apartments and wrapping an elevated courtyard at Level 2.
A new fourth level, mostly concealed behind the parapet of the existing building, will be added to provide additional rental apartments
In addition a new 6 storey apartment will be built on the parking lot to the east of the Scott building

Context
Designed by architect Lord Wilfrid Hargreaves (1880-1966) who also designed nearby Leland Building at 2512 Douglas St and Kings' Printer at 565 Superior Street. Further heritage info on 2659 Douglas.
