Context

• Will replace a duplex currently at 915 McClure St which was built in 1939 and was sold on July 31, 2024

• Although the developer has named this project The Samuel, McClure street is not named after famous Victoria architect Samuel Maclure (the spelling is also different). The street was named by JD Pemberton after Arctic explorer Sir Robert John Le Mesurier McClure.  Pemberton named a number of Victoria streets after Arctic explorers including Franklin Terrace, Richardson Street and Ross Street.
