Context
Will replace a 3-storey mixed used building at 900 Esquimalt Road (home to Sarpino's Pizza and Canada's Best Karate, Bunny's Kitchen and others) and the former Carlton Club (900 Carlton Terrace) and the connected retail fronting on to the 900 block of Esquimalt including Spice Valley and Lum's Chinese restaurants.
Unusual for Victoria, the building will include above ground parking, on the second floor which the developer has stated can be converted to commercial or residential space in the future if there is a lack of demand for parking.
The developer GMC Projects owns/developed several highly recognizable buildings including The Bell and The Charlesworth apartment buildings on the 1000 block of Cook Street as well as the Adelphi Block at the corner of Yates and Government street.
