Crystal Pool Replacement
Replacement of the existing Crystal Pool which will first be demolished. Budget $209 million. New pool will feature:
50 m pool with moveable bulkhead, leisure pool with 25 m warm-up lanes, a shallow area, play features and a lazy river.
Two hot pools at different temperatures, sauna and steam room
Seating and viewing areas
Large fitness studio and multi-purpose rooms for sports, dance, fitness, wellness and art as well as community gathering spaces
Expanded parking including accessible and EV charging options and short and long-term bike parking

Status
December 2025 Status: From the city’s July 18, 2025 report: “The Crystal Pool Replacement Project is underway and currently in the planning and design phase. on management services, grant applications and interim recreation services planning.” In October 2025 the City made a deal to take over the YMCA pool on Broughton Street for city use while the old Crystal Pool is demolished and the new one built.
