Crystal Pool Replacement
Replacement of the existing Crystal Pool which will first be demolished. Budget $209 million. New pool will feature:
50 m pool with moveable bulkhead, leisure pool with 25 m warm-up lanes, a shallow area, play features and a lazy river.
Two hot pools at different temperatures, sauna and steam room
Seating and viewing areas
Large fitness studio and multi-purpose rooms for sports, dance, fitness, wellness and art as well as community gathering spaces
Expanded parking including accessible and EV charging options and short and long-term bike parking

Status
June 2026: The Victoria News and the City's own project website have announced "Etro-Durwest, a Vancouver-Victoria joint venture alliance, joining the project team as construction managers." In October 2025 project management servies were awarded. Etro-Durwest is also the construction managers for the Hyatt Centric hotel at 1324 Broad Street (former Duck building). Durwest has been active on several high profile buildings in Victoria and in 2024 came under the Etro umbrella.
October 27, 2025 update reads in part:
Schematic design kicked off in mid-October and preliminary technical site studies have wrapped up. Project management services have been awarded, and procurement of construction management services is underway. A grant application was submitted to the UCBM Strategic Priorities Fund for up to $7 million in funding.
In October 2025 the City made a deal to take over the YMCA pool on Broughton Street for city use while the old Crystal Pool is demolished and the new one built.
