May 2026: Active - On October 16, 2025 city council paused review of proposal for a thorough review by city staff under its new land-use guidelines. The Local Government Act now prohibits public hearings for projects that fit within a municipality’s Official Community Plan. As of April 2026 no further planning activity has taken place.
Mike Geric Construction is also the developer for 611 Speed Avenue which was first intended for sale as condos, then as an apartment and is now pending sale to a non-profit housing society. In James Bay they are also behind the four-storey 43 apartment at 135 Menzies Street which was listed for sale on May 7, 2026 for $3.9 million. The impact/relevance of the pending sale of these two properties on this development is unknown at this time.
